2019 BDAQ Residential Alterations / Additions Award Winner – Houses up to $350,000

The brief was to add an ensuite and rumpus room to the existing two bedroom home, provide a covered outdoor entertainment area and a new laundry and roomy double garage.  Both living areas are well shaded from the western sun by the new built additions, and the cooling north east sea breezes still enter the house via the plantation shutters in the outdoor area.

The new Pavilion-style outdoor living area, with its timber lined raked ceiling, is the client’s favourite area.  Its views over the ocean, cool breezes and BBQ cooking facilities make it the social hub of the house.
