2018 BDAQ Residential Alterations / Additions Award Winner – Houses $350,001 – $800,000 The client’s vision was to transform a small, neglected beach house into a modern, upmarket, three bedroom home to capture the magnificent ocean views. Open plan living was provided on the upper level which leads onto a large covered patio, taking full advantage of the sea views. Sandstone was used extensively and provides a high screen fence linking the gate house to the entry.

Sleipner Street Renovation

2019 BDAQ Residential Alterations / Additions Award Winner – Houses over $1,500,000 This was a major renovation of a mountain-top dwelling with northerly rural and ocean views.  A two storey atrium provides both amazing views from many of the living zones, as well as effortlessly acting as  passive climate control. Local sandstone was used for retaining, flooring and wall cladding.  Existing brickwork was kept or repaired and features extensively both internally and externally.  Pre-finished timber cladding was matched to existing timber throughout.  The final product is a very natural, earthy, low-maintenance home, nestled into its mountain landscape.

2019 BDAQ Residential Alterations / Additions Award Winner – Houses up to $350,000 The brief was to add an ensuite and rumpus room to the existing two bedroom home, provide a covered outdoor entertainment area and a new laundry and roomy double garage.  Both living areas are well shaded from the western sun by the new built additions, and the cooling north east sea breezes still enter the house via the plantation shutters in the outdoor area.
